What is the Development Fund (Members Allocation)
The Fund is a small but flexible source of funding provided to assist groups in the development of locally based community projects and group activities.
Through the provision of this fund Ballyshannon Town Council endeavours to assist a wide range of community projects including projects in the area of Sport & Recreation, Enterprise Development, Environmental Improvements, Tourism, Festivals, Heritage & Cultural activities etc.
How do I access this fund?
Complete the attached application form and submit same to the following address:
Town Clerk’s Office, Ballyshannon Town Council, Abbeyiew, Ballyshannon, County Donegal.
How do I draw down this funding?
To draw down funding from this fund, please submit original invoices to the value of the allocation with evidence of payment endorsed thereon.
Notes for Guidance
Contributions from the Fund are generally limited to activities described above. It is important to note that costs such as those incurred in publication, marketing, management or running costs will not be eligible for funding.
Applicants must be community development groups with an appropriate structure.
Applicant groups are advised, in their own interest, to arrange adequate Public Liability, Employers Liability and Fire Insurance as appropriate.
When a particular application is approved it is on the basis that the monies paid will be used for the purposes detailed in the application. However, the Council is not involved in nor does it have any responsibility for the activities of the group.
Payment from this fund will only be processed upon the receipt of original invoices with evidence of payment endorsed thereon. Please note that all invoices must be in respect of applicant group with the name of supplier clearly indicated.
Tax Requirements
In the event of a grant of €650 or more being allocated to an organisation, it will be necessary to supply the following details:
• The Tax District dealing with the organisations’s tax affairs.
• The organisation’s Tax Reference Number.
• A statement indicating that the organisation’s tax affairs are in order.
For grants over €6,500 it will be necessary to submit a current tax clearance certificate from the Revenue Commissioners.
